FAMILY SYSTEMS THERAPIST

Program Description:
The Family Life Management Center provides an array of preventive services to families aimed at assisting parents in meeting the challenges of rearing children.  Its focus is to decrease the risk of children qualifying for out-of-home placement services.  The program includes home visits, school visits, parent training, workshops, individual/family counseling and referrals.


Title:    Case Planner/Family Systems Therapist


FLSA:    Regular Full-Time Exempt


Reports To:    Clinical Supervisor


Basic Function: Responsible for providing quality comprehensive case management services within the context of the preventive services philosophy.  Provide clinical services to assigned families in line with the ACS approved preventive service model.


Duties & Responsibilities:


Maintain a caseload of 12 families.
Engage families and case planning.
Conduct intake interviews, if deemed necessary.
Conduct alcohol and other drug assessments.
Conduct risk assessments.
Conduct informational workshops and health promotional workshops.
Develop curricula.
Make home and school visits.
Co-facilitate parenting skills workshops.
Other duties as assigned.




Requirements


BSW, BA or BS required.  LMSW, MSW, or CSW preferred. Experience with Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) Foster Care Preventive Services Programs. Superior interpersonal skills.  Thorough knowledge of children and adolescent development and family systems therapy.   Minimum of 3 years experience working with a similar population.  Good written and oral skills.   Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
